Sony’s upcoming phablet, the Xperia T2 Ultra, has just been spotted in retail packaging for the first time. Although the smartphone is official and has been announced already, the manufacturer has been relatively silent as far as availability is concerned. But this leak sheds light on the arrival of the handset, at least in China bearing the model number XM50h. This variant carries support for dual-SIM networks as well.

The smartphone is yet to make its way to other regions of the world, but previous reports have pegged the handset to cost close to €399 ($550) unlocked and off contract in Europe. So a similar pricing pattern can be expected elsewhere as well.

The large exterior of the Xperia T2 Ultra houses a 6 inch 720p Triluminos display, a quad core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset as well as a 13 megapixel camera on the back. The smartphone also features 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and a 3,000 mAh battery. The Xperia T2 Ultra is reportedly going to be one of the many midrange devices coming from Sony in 2014.
