‘Mutation 8’ Update Set To Touch Down On Plague Inc. Next Month

The extremely popular high-strategy and realistic simulation game, Plague Inc, has been available to download on the Play Store for just over sixteen months, and it’s pretty safe to say that it’s one of the most successful games on the market to date accumulating a total user base of over 25 million players with almost 400,000 five-star ratings and was voted a runner up in the IGN Game of the Year 2012 awards for ‘Overall Best Strategy Game’.

However, its now time for an update, in been a little over a month since Mutation 7 was distributed, delivering real life diseases and altered world state scenarios. Ndemic — the development team behind the Play Store’s top rated game — have today announced that the much-anticipated ‘Mutation 8’ upgrade is en route to touch down in April. So, thankfully, we don’t have long to wait until we can get our hands on some great new content.

Mutation 8 is scheduled to bring plenty to the table, including a new ‘Mega-Brutal’ difficulty, revamped Cheat Modes, and, finally, four new scenarios which range from ‘infecting the world with a 30,000 year old virus through to surviving in a world with hyper advanced healthcare.’ The full changelog for the upcoming Plague Inc update, courtesy of Android Central, can be seen below:

  • “Mega-Brutal” difficulty – for players who thought Brutal was Casual! Experience Plague Inc.’s toughest challenge yet and try to infect a world with random medical checks, genetic drift and research tech improvements. Adapt or die…
  • Mega new Cheat Modes – 3 new cheat modes are added – the Shuffle Plague, Turbo Plague and Lucky Dip Plague which will all give you very different Plague Inc. experiences.
  • Mega evolved Cheat functionality – the thing that everyone has been waiting for! You can now use cheats on any plague type (and even combine different cheat modes)
  • Mega new Scenarios – 4 new scenarios give players brand new challenges from infecting the world with a 30,000 year old virus through to surviving in a world with hyper advanced healthcare

We do not have an exact launch date for ‘Mutation 8’ at this stage but we will be sure to let you know as and when we do but in the meantime you can keep looking out for the push notification on your smartphone prompting you to download and install the update.
