Earlier today, Sprint posted a series of upgrade documents on its website for an over-the-air update that it’s already in the process of pushing out to all its carrier-branded Galaxy Tab 3’s currently located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software modifications, such as Android 4.4.2, but it does bring the usual multitude of bug fixes and stability improvements.

The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is an impressive high-end Android tablet, which sports a 10.1-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, an Intel Atom Z2560 chipset powered by two 1.6GHz CPU’s, a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU, 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), a 3.15-megapixel rear-facing camera and a very hefty 6,800 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery.

• WiFi “Auto network switch” will default to off, this change will suppress “Your internet connection is unstable” from notification bar. Allowing customers to connect to any WiFi connection regardless of the condition of the WiFi network.

To initiate the update manually, make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, from the home screen, press the Menu key, followed by Settings. Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘About Device’, then ‘Software Update and ‘Update Now’. Follow all of the prompts presented on the display of your device and your phone will start to download and install the upgrade.
