Smartphones from Huawei usually go unnoticed in global markets due to lack of proper availability. But that could change soon as the company is reportedly planning to bring a 2K resolution handset to the market. This is the first time we’re hearing of this device, so take it with a grain of salt for the time being. It is believed that this new flagship will belong to Huawei’s popular D series of smartphones.

It is claimed that the handset could launch as early as in September this year, which is when Samsung refreshes the Galaxy Note series, so Huawei could be in for some stiff competition. In addition to the 5 inch Quad HD resolution display, this smartphone is also expected to pack Huawei’s own quad core HiSilicon K3V3 chip. This handset will reportedly cost only $630, which sounds too good to be true for a 2K resolution device.

The company’s Ascend D3 smartphone which was initially expected to arrive during the MWC will now arrive in June sporting a 1080p display, according to the leak.
