Moto-G-customizable-backs

Motorola is currently pushing out a relatively minor over-the-air stability update to all its unlocked variants of the Moto G currently located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software modifications, but it does include a multitude of bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimizations.

The full changelog for the update, build 174.44.1, can be seen below:

  • Fixed an issue which caused temporary cellular network loss for a small number of customers
  • Fixed wallpaper cropping issue
  • Resolved USB OTG support for USB drives
  • Fixed low call volume as experienced by some users

To initiate the update manually, make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, from the home screen, press the Menu key, followed by Settings. Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘About Device’, then ‘Software Update and ‘Update Now’. Follow all of the prompts presented on the display of your device and your phone will start to download and install this stability update immediately.
