Today, ASUS unveiled another PadFone variant, just six weeks after introducing us to the PadFone Mini and PadFone E at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. This latest model, entitled the PadFone Infinity Lite, is essentially a scaled-down version of the PadFone Infinity 2 that was announced back in September, 2013.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone, which slots directly into the backplate of the tablet, packs a 5-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable flash memory, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera equipped with optical image stabilization, a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 2,400 mAh non-removable battery.

The tablet dock features the exact same internals as the smartphone, but instead of the 5-inch panel and 2,400 mAh battery, it sports a 10.1-inch HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 5,000 mAh cell, which, according to ASUS, will give “exceptional battery life.”

The PadFone Infinity Lite is set to launch in Taiwan next month for $463, however, it looks as if customers will have to pay an extra $230 to get their hands on the tablet dock. Unfortunately, ASUS didn’t specify if the Lite would be available to purchase internationally, but we presume that it will be making its way to the U.S. in the not-too-distant future.
