Koush Demos Android Mirroring To Chromecast

Yes, it's over, Michael.

Koushik Dutta, one of the core members of the CyanogenMod team and developer of apps like ROM Manager and AllCast, is now working on bringing Android mirroring to Chromecast. In a video posted on Google Plus, he gives us a sneak peek into this upcoming feature by playing Flappy Birds on his Nexus 5, which was mirrored to his TV via Chromecast.

While mirroring works flawlessly, there is a slight lag especially noticeable when scrolling through content or playing games. The mirroring works in landscape mode as well but the quality is not that great since it uses VP8 and WebM format.

Below is a quick video posted by Koush showing the mirroring feature in action -:

Koush’s AllCast app allows you to wirelessly play local content on a plethora of devices including Apple TV, Roku and Chromecast. Last week, he had posted a video showing off Android mirroring to an Apple TV and hinted about something similar coming to Chromecast as well.
