The popular Indian consumer electronics company, Micromax, has officially launched its latest low-end Android powered smartphone, the Canvas Power A96, in India, where it’s currently available to purchase from the manufacturer’s online store for ₹9900 ($160).

This smartphone’s main feature is its colossal 4,000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery, which, according to Micromax, offers up to 450 hours of standby time. Battery aside, the handset packs a 5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a MTK 6582M chipset powered by four 1.3GHz CPU’s, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD) and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.

The handset will ship running the latest build of Android 4.2.2 straight out of the box, but is expected to receive the much-anticipated 4.3 Jelly Bean upgrade by way of an OTA in the not-too-distant future.
