AT&T is currently pushing out a relatively minor over-the-air stability update to all its carrier-branded LG G2 handsets located in the United States. Sadly, this upgrade doesn’t bring any major software modifications, such as Android 4.4.2, but it does include ‘FOTA enhancement to support future updates’, in addition to several Google optimizations which we assume will help to pave the way for the much anticipated chunky KitKat update.

The LG G2 is an impressive high-end smartphone, which packs a 5.2-inch true HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a 424 PPI pixel density, a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 chipset powered by four 2.26GHz Krait 400 CPU’s, the latest Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of flash memory, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization and a 3,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery.

To initiate the update manually, make sure you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network. Then, from the home screen, press the Menu key, followed by Settings. Scroll to the bottom and tap ‘About Device’, then ‘Software Update and ‘Update Now’. Follow all of the prompts presented on the display of your device and your phone will start to download and install this 15.4 MB stability update — build number: JDQ39B.
