Samsung Shows Off New TouchWiz Icons In Latest Galaxy S5 Teaser

Samsung Unpacked

We are expecting Samsung to unveil the Galaxy S5 flagship at a dedicated event on February 24 in Barcelona. While the first press invite dropped plenty of hints about the imminent arrival of the smartphone, its latest teaser appears to give us our first glimpse at its new TouchWiz icons.

This new invite, published on Twitter by Samsung, shows off a flurry of redesigned and rounded app icons. Now, we’re not completely certain these icons will make their way to the Galaxy S5, but the fact that Samsung is showing them off in its teaser is certainly a hint.

Another theory floating around the internet is that Samsung will strictly focus on Tizen devices during this pre-MWC Unpacked event, which could also explain the use of these drastically different app icons. But given Samsung’s focus on the number 5 in all of its materials, we’d be pretty surprised if its latest Android flagship wasn’t unveiled later this month.

The Galaxy S5 is rumored to come with a 5.25-inch 2K display (2560 x 1440), a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera sensor on the back, Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest iteration of TouchWiz, a Snapdragon 805 and/or Exynos 6 chipset and 3GB of RAM with up to 128GB of internal storage.
