Motorola announced its flagship smartphone of 2013, the Moto X, back in August, and just a couple of weeks after its unveiling the factory unlocked handset was available to purchase for $619.99. However, Amazon is now holding a 10% sale on the device, meaning you can pick one up for $559 — that’s $60.99 off the retailer’s usual price.

The Moto X packs a gorgeous 4.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (coated with Corning Gorilla Glass for added protection), a Qualcomm MSM8960Pro Snapdragon powered by two 1.7GHz Krait CPU’s, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of flash memory, a 10-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2,200 mAh Li-Ion battery.

In addition, the smartphone will ship running Vanilla Android 4.4 KitKat but is upgradable to 4.4.2 via a simple over-the-air update upon receipt. Simply boot up the handset and the first time you connect to Wi-Fi you will be prompted to download and install the relatively minor upgrade.
