Developers love getting their hands on a kernel source code, primarily because it allows them to develop some great new custom ROMs with awesome features you don’t usually get as standard. As of today, the official Android 4.4.2 kernel files for the Moto G can be downloaded directly from Motorola’s blog.

You may not get too excited by this announcement, but I’m sure that you can appreciate the fact that developers do, as this enables them to work around the clock in order to adapt the code to develop some pretty impressive custom ROMs that we can download and install on our own Android devices.

The Moto G is one of the most impressive budget-friendly smartphones on the market, sporting a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB/16GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 2,070 mAh Li-Ion removable battery.
