Samsung GamePad Comes With Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 In New Game Edition Bundle

Samsung GamePad

On Monday, Samsung announced the availability of its GamePad in select European markets, and now just a couple of days later, to coincide with the GamePads introduction to the public, the South Korean company has revealed that it will be launching a brand new “Game Edition” bundle of its Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (which will come complete with a GamePad unit in the box) in the not-too-distant future.

Seeing as the GamePad is designed to work with smartphones between 4 and 6.3-inches in size, the package will come with a complimentary Mini HDMI adapter that connects directly to your TV — therefore, giving you the ability to game in style on the big screen.

The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 packs a 8-inch TFT multitouch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels, an Exynos 4212 chipset powered by two 1.5GHz CPU’s, a Mali-400MP GPU, 1.5GB of DDR3 RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD), a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 4,450 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

The GamePad features an 8 way D-Pad, 2 Analog Sticks, 4 Action buttons, 2 Trigger buttons, a Select Button, a Start Button, a “PLAY” button and a rechargeable 160 mAh battery.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not provide us with any pricing information for the “Game Edition” bundle, but seeing as the GamePad itself retails for €79.90 ($109.17), it’s pretty safe to assume that the package may come with a rather hefty price tag.
