Oppo Teases Upcoming Flagship Find 7

Oppo Find 7

Oppo has started teasing us with what’s rumored to be the company’s latest Android-powered smartphone, the Find 7. The OEM took to Twitter earlier today to post a couple of images, which only confirm that the much-anticipated handset is on its way — nothing more, nothing less. Oppo failed to provide followers with a timetable for its launch, but we do expect it to be fairly soon.

According to recent leaks, rumors and speculation, the Find 7 is purported to feature a 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, a Snapdragon 805 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD) and an Adreno 330 GPU.

In order to put these overwhelming specifications into some sort of perspective, most of the current high-end Android flagship smartphones feature 2GB of RAM and Snapdragon 800 chipsets, so the Find 7 looks as if its destined to be an extremely powerful handset.

The handset’s predecessor, the Find 5, which was released back in February 2013, isn’t very memorable, with its 5-inch IPS LCD display, a Qualcomm APQ8065 Snapdragon chipset powered by four 1.5GHz CPU’s, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 16GB/32GB of non-expandable flash memory and a 2,500 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery.

So, judging by the 7’s rumored specifactions, it certainly appears that Oppo wants to make its mark in the Android market with its next flagship device. If these specs do turn out to be spot on, and we really hope they do, it’s pretty safe to say that the Find 7 could potentially be the most impressive smartphone on the market, as of yet.

Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see what Samsung comes up with for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, before we can deem this as the most impressive handset that’s going to launch in the first quarter of 2014 — but from where I’m sitting, it looks like a pretty good contender.
