Samsung’s latest low-end budget-friendly handset, the Galaxy S Duos 2, made its debut appearance on Samsung’s official online store in India late last night. However, strangely, the handset was not announced by the official Samsung Press Team located in South Korea and the United States, so the handset still remains unknown to many.

The Galaxy S Duos 2 sports the model number GT-S7582 and packs a mediocre 4-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480, a “fast and powerful” 1.2GHz processor, 768MB of DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB via microSD) and a 1,500 mAh battery.

In terms of software, the handset is expected to ship running the latest build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung’s custom TouchWiz UI plastered over the top — which is the “easier way to use your device, giving you intuitive control over everyday tasks or advanced ones,” according to Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 will retail at ₹10,999 Indian rupees when it ships to the public in India, which roughly converts to a little over $175. There’s no official statement with regards to worldwide availability of the handset, but we expect it to make its way to the U.S in the not-too-distant future.
