Android 4.4.1 (KOT49E) Update Is Coming In The Near Future

KitKat 10

Google has successfully managed to roll out the Android 4.4 KitKat update for all the supported Nexus and Google Play edition devices within a couple of weeks of the OS being announced. Sadly, the current build of KitKat is not without its issues and contains a lot of bugs and issues, especially on the Nexus 5.

Google has already stated that it is working on an update that should fix most of the issues with KitKat. Turns out, the update might just be  around the corner and might land before Christmas arrives.

LlabTooFer, a popular developer on the HTC development scene, has tweeted that the Android 4.4.1 (KOT49E) update for the HTC One Google Edition is coming in near future.

Since this is a newer build of Android (KOT49E vs. KRT16S), it is all but certain that all the supported Nexus devices, and the Galaxy S4 GPe, would be getting this update as well.

Hopefully, Android 4.4.1 would fix most of the issues that Nexus 5 owners have been facing with their phones including a sub-par camera performance.
