Vine Update Brings Push Notifications & New Sharing Options

Vine for Android Header

Vine for Android received a pretty interesting update on Google Play yesterday, bringing push notifications, new sharing options, and a few minor bug fixes.

You will now receive push notifications when a person likes, comments or mentions you in a post. Prior to this update, you were only informed of these occurrences once you had entered the Vine app, but now you will be notified as soon as they are applied; regardless of whether you’re in another app, on the phone, sending/receiving texts, interacting on a social network, or if your device is idle or asleep.

These new sharing enhancements allow you to share any public post on Twitter and Facebook using the built-in share button, which becomes visible when you toggle the “See More” menu by clicking on the three horizontal squares adjacent to the comment button within the app.

The full changelog for this release – V1.3.3 – can be seen below:

  • Receive push notifications for new likes, comments, and mentions
  • Share any public post to Twitter or Facebook
  • Other bug fixes and improvements
