Google’s new Nexus 7 has already started making its way into our hands via third-party retailers, and Google has started shipping today. Poetic has adapted its extremely popular Slimline case to house the new Nexus for $5.99.

However, there is a catch, which is reflected in the price.

The case won’t ship until August 23. This means you will have to use your brand new tablet without a case for the first 23 days of its life making it vulnerable to possible dents and scratches – unless, of course, you purchase another case to tide you over in the meantime, or you could just leave it in the box until the Poetic Slimline case arrives… I think not!

The Slimline is a ‘luxury’ flip case with a folding cover which enables users to mount the device in multiple different landscape positions. The microfiber lining inside the cover provides scratch and dust protection for your Nexus 7.

There are also precision inserts for easy access to the charging port, buttons and speakers, therefore it is not necessary to remove the case in order to charge the device, so your tablet stays protected at all times.

The only color listed for the case is black, but the product page indicates that more colors will be added in the very near future.
