It is rumored that Sony is working on a new flagship smartphone, dubbed ‘Honami’, which is being created to compete with Samsung and HTC’s latest high-end devices. So its expected to feature some pretty impressive specifications.

According to a leak on ePrice the device, pictured below, is rumored to pack a 5-inch 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 3,000mAh battery and a whopping 20.7-megapixel camera.epic520_3_SONY-_6aa7df55f86779917d925c59c49294ee

In terms of flagship devices, these specifications make for a handset that is more than capable of competing with Android smartphone royalty; such as the Galaxy S4 and HTC One.

Sony has been sending out press invites for this year’s IFA in Berlin, and with the company’s main competitors – Samsung and HTC – unveiling its latest contributions to the smartphone industry at the same event, IFA would be the perfect place for Sony to announce its upcoming device.

It would be interesting to see this rumor materialize and for the codenamed ‘Honami’ device to be available on the market.
