Twitter Update Brings Richer Search Results, DM Sync & More!

Twitter-Android-HTC-One

Twitter has announced a bunch of new updates for its Android app, which includes synchronization of direct messages, new search features and richer search results. The new features will be rolled out in stages, but you will need to have the latest version (4.1.2) of the Twitter app in order to receive these new features.

The updated app will automatically sync direct messages across all of your devices, so no matter which device you pick up, your conversation will be right there in front of you, exactly as you left it.

Twitter has also updated its search feature to display richer results, which now include full biographies and related user accounts. When using the search feature you will notice that accounts now appear as large blocks with additional information, and you can swipe to the left of the screen to view similar users.

The full changelog for the version 4.1.2 update can be seen below:

Now when you read a Direct message it will be marked as read in all of your official Twitter apps (including twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for Mac, Twitter for iPad and TweetDeck) and vice versa.
We’ve also made more improvements in this version:
• As you search you can now see user avatars and clear past searches from the dropdown menu
• Richer search results indicate when there are new Tweets for your query and show account results with bios and social context

Twitter’s updated application is now live in Google Play, and you can grab it by hitting the source link below.
