As the demand for high-end phablet’s continues to increase, smartphone developers constantly need to design new and innovative devices. Vivo announced this week its plans to release the Vivo Play phablet, equipped with a 5.7 inch screen, at the end of May.

The Vivo Play is a high-end Android phablet, featuring a 1080p 5.7-inch screen, 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 chipset processor, 13MP rear-facing camera and 2GB of RAM. The Play runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, however it does not feature Android’s Vanilla UI – instead, Vivo has designed its own “Fun-touch” UI, which is said to be very similar to iOS’s flat structure UI.

Vivo’s latest flagship device, the Play, is only 7.99mm thick and weighs in at on 187g – what an impresssive candy-bar form factor! The device ships with a 3,400mAh battery, so you should have no issues regarding battery when using the device.

The phablet will be available to purchase later this month in two colours: black and white, the device will also be available with two options for built-in memory: 16GB or 32GB.

The Play will only be available to purchase in China, however if you want to get your hands on one, you should be able to buy one, by contacting Vivo directly, or purchasing one on eBay – for a hefty sum of $499.
