HTC Rezound Finally Receives International Roaming Compatibility

Verizon published an article stating that the HTC Rezound will receive a nifty update in the near-future, however no luck this time around for Rezound users hoping to receive Jelly Bean – but this update still has some pretty awesome features. As HTC promised, a while back, the Rezound is finally getting International Roaming Support!

The HTC Rezound was released back in November 2011, and users had no access to the GSM international networks, so if they wanted to use a phone abroad – they’d have to purchase another one. However, almost 2 years later HTC are pushing out an update. The update brings International Roaming Support to the HTC Rezound, this enables data roaming on GSM networks, previously inaccessible to the device, which covers over 205 countries.

The update also brings some additional upgrades for a couple of pre-installed apps, while a handful of bloatware has been removed – such as Mobile IM, VOD, VCAST Music, Blockbuster and VCAST. Mobile Hotspot and HTC’s Visual Voicemail have received multiple bug fixes, whilst a couple of improvements were made to Skype, Backup Assistant and the devices Data Connectivity.

Some users that have been experiencing software freeze and random reboots should see a system stability improvement as well.

There’s no official word yet on where the update will be rolled out, however some sources claim that it will be released within the next 2 weeks. If you’re a Rezound owner and you’ve begun to receive the update, be sure to let us know in the comments below.
