You may or may not remember ASUS introduced the Qube back in January at CES, however, the Qube has now been officially renamed the Cube! 5 days ago a source claimed the Cube would be released on April 23, this turned out to be quite an accurate prediction – as it appears that the Cube will be released on April 24.

The Cube is ASUS’s Google TV device, it is shaped like a cube and runs a cube-like Android UI. Changing the Android UI is a huge step for ASUS as they haven’t really changed the UI in any of their previous devices – however recent leaked images of the UI suggest that it is a huge success.

Newegg has the Cube listed on their site for $139, pricing is a little bit higher than we expected – but hey, what can we do about it? However, Newegg is offering a $10 promotional gift card, but only for customers that order before April 23. Many people are surprised with the Cube’s price, when you consider that most of the competition retails at around $99 – however ASUS has a reputation of overpricing their devices.

If you are still unsure about the full features of the Cube, be sure to check out the description taken directly from Newegg’s listing:

The ASUS CUBE is an Android powered device designed to bridge the gap between live TV and Internet with a wealth of online functions. The remote also features QWERTY keyboard, touch pad, and motion sensors, making interacting with your TV, gaming control and finding your entertainment an easy-going pleasure. Plus, its accented, cubic design adds a sleek complement to your living roomAs you can see from the description above, the Cube is a totally unique TV player which doubles up as a games console.
