I’ll bet that ever since the unveiling of Samsung’s latest flagship phone, competitors have been hard at work on developing new devices that can beat it — at least in terms of features and specifications. One of those competitors could be Huawei, who is rumored to be working on a new flagship phone specifically to compete with Samsung’s latest offering.

Even though Huawei unveiled the Ascend D2 earlier in the year, there’s speculation that the company is working on another new top-of-the-line device with some of the most impressive specifications anyone’s crammed into a smartphone.

The new device is rumored to feature a 1.8 GHz K3V3 quad-core chip together with a Mali T604 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel camera and a 4.9 inch 1080p HD display. It is also rumored that Huawei’s upcoming smartphone will only be 6.3mm thick, which is significantly thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S4.

If Huawei develops this rumored smartphone, it is very likely that it could be a strong Galaxy S4 competitor, especially in the home market (China) and Huawei can offer the device 10-20% cheaper than the Galaxy S4.
