Samsung today sent out invites for its Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event that is scheduled to be held on August 13th at 11 a.m. EDT. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus at the event.

The event is being held at the Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, New York, and will also be live streamed on YouTube.

Along with the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge Plus, Samsung is also likely to announce its first smartwatch with a circular screen at the event.

Samsung has usually launched its new Galaxy Note at IFA every year, but the recent slowdown in the Galaxy S6 sales and the upcoming iPhone 6s launch forced the company to push forward the event.

If leaks are anything to go by, the Galaxy Note 5 will come with a design language that is similar to the Galaxy S6, which also means it will end up sacrificing a removable battery and a microSD card slot in the process. As for the Galaxy S6 edge Plus, it will feature a bigger 5.7-inch curved screen, with other specs being largely the same as its smaller sibling.
