According to the Korea Times, LG will not be unveiling the G4 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. The websites cites its sources who indicates that an April unveiling is a possibility for LG’s upcoming flagship.

LG has never unveiled its flagship handset at MWC so this news should not come as a surprise for many. The company launched the G2 on August 8, 2013, while the G3 was launched on May 27, 2014.

According to the source of the Korea Times, LG launches its flagship handset after Samsung has unveiled its flagship Galaxy handset in March-April and before Apple unveils the new iPhone in the second half of the year to “make a bigger splash,” and the G4 is going to be no exception to this rule.

LG’s new mobile chief, Cho Juno, will be talking about the Korean company’s new business strategy for 2015 at MWC next month. The company will also be showcasing its newest luxury smartwatch running Android Wear — the Watch Urbane.

Considering that Samsung and HTC will both be unveiling their hotly anticipated flagships for 2015 — the Galaxy S6 and One M9 — at MWC next month, LG’s decision to not unveil the G4 at the event seems to be a smart one.
