Motorola has partnered with VivaLnk’s to come up with an NFC based ‘digital tattoo’ that will make it easier for Moto X owners to unlock their device.

Simply tapping your Moto X back against the sticker on your arm or other part of the body will quickly unlock the phone, allowing users to avoid the hassle of entering their pass code every time.

The VivaLnk’s NFC tattoos makes use of the company’s eSkin TM technology and is super thin and made of flexible materials. The tattoo is designed to last for five days and can withstand rigorous activities like swimming, gymming, showering and more.

According to Motorola, an average smartphone user takes 2.3 seconds to unlock their phone and does this at least 39 times a day. With this wearable sticker, Motorola wants to make the experience of unlocking a phone a bit more convenient for its users.

There is a slight catch here though. The display of your Moto X must already be turned on when you touch its back against the sticker, otherwise your phone will not unlock itself. This is because on all Android devices, the NFC antenna is only active when the screen of the device is on.

You can buy a pack of 10 VivaLnk digital tattoos for $10 from here.
