Google Will Sell Glass To Just About Anyone On April 15

Google Glass

Google has announced that it will open the sales of its Glass wearable to just about anyone on the 15th of April as part of its limited period promotion. So you will not need an invite from an existing Glass user to get the device on that day. You will still need the $1500 though.

Users need to be at least 18 years of age and will need to sign up here and register interest in the product. This indicates Google’s willingness to make the product available to as many people as possible, almost nearing a commercial release.

What was once considered a developer only affair is now slowly making its way to every day users as well, which could well be a sign of things to come. However, at $1,500, it’s not an affordable option by any stretch of the imagination. To make things easier on the users, Google will be offering free shades or a frame with this price.

Users of Google’s existing services were getting invites for the Explorer Edition of Glass, which indicated that Google wanted more people to get a hold of its wearable and pass on feedback. This new move is merely an extension of that.
