AT&T Teases New PadFone X On Twitter

ATT-PadFoneX-soon

AT&T took to Twitter earlier today to remind us of ASUS’ upcoming PadFone X which was first mentioned back in January at CES in Barcelona, when the operator announced that it will have exclusivity over the handset when it launches in the U.S. later this year. In spite of this latest revelation, the information page for the PadFone X still states that the device as simply ‘coming soon’, so we can only assume that this means the new smartphone-tablet hybrid will be released sooner rather than later this year.

Like all other devices in the Padfone series, the Padfone X consists of a smartphone and tablet dock. According to a leaked benchmark test recorded last month, the dock will pack a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 mSM-8974AB processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage and a 5-megapixel camera.

Unfortunately, the benchmark results did not reveal any specifications for the actual smartphone itself and we have still not received an official announcement, so for now we are in the dark with regards to its internal components. However, we do know that the device will ship running that latest build of Android 4.4.2 KitKat skinned with ASUS’ extremely user-friendly custom user interface.

There is no news with regards to pricing or availability as of yet, but we will be sure to let you know as and when we there is.
