Koushik Dutta, the developer behind ClockworkMod, is in the process of developing an app which will enable you to “cast” photos or videos stored locally on any Android device directly to your HD TV.

The app fully utilizes the vast range of customizable sharing options that are built within Android, allowing users to successfully push content from a smartphone running 4.3 Jelly Bean to a Chromecast unit.

The demonstration video can be watched below:

In the video Dutta records a short clip of his sleepy disinterested dog, he subsequently clicks a single button to push the video to his Chromecast unit, and within a few seconds it is playing on his TV.

Chromecast owners will have to wait a while to get their hands on the app; as the terms of the beta SDK prevents developers from releasing and distributing any APKs, until Google gives them the green light.
