This is The Most Powerful Battery Case for The Samsung Galaxy S3 (There’s an iPhone Version Too)

One doesn’t see too many battery cases for the Galaxy S3. Unlike the glass-fortress iPhone — for which battery-cases are more numerous than species of bird — the S3’s battery is easily removable, somewhat lessening the usefulness of an external battery. But that didn’t stop iWalk from coming out with the Chameleon Easy, an impossibly sleek monster of a battery case with 2800 mAh on tap — which iWalk says is the highest capacity of any S3 battery to date.

There’s an iPhone 4/S (no love for the 5?) version too, simply called the Chameleon, but with the seriously-reduced capacity of just 2000 mAh. Still, that’s way more than enough to fully charge the iPhone 4/S battery, both of which are around 1400 mAh. On the other hand, the iPhone’s Chameleon comes with a power-meter and a handful of Skittle-colored, interchangeable faceplates.

The S3’s Chameleon Easy sells for $65, and the iPhone’s Chameleon for $60.

    There’s a 3200mAh capacity battery case tho… http://www.groupon.sg/deals/shopping/Groupon-Shop/716621162

Since you’re going to change the look of the phone anyway, why not buy an extended battery like the Hyperion which supples 4200mAh?

  • James Beam

Ok maybe stupid question here but exactly How does the case work? Do you use this to recharge your existing battery or replace? Saw your post Dave, will go with Hyperion once I figure out the case particular function.

I really don’t understand why anyone need have this one if you own the GS3 which battery cover can pup up open 1sec than replace another battery, with that easy Why why external battery charger ? I carry 2nd battery all the time and never ever worry running out of juice.

      Good point sir

      • Dan

Yeah, but it’d be annoying carrying around an extra battery that you’d eventually lose.

        • TWJ

Exactly…lost two batteries. Hard to lose an extra battery when it is your phone case…

      Hi

If you open the back cover too often, it will broken in two weeks. Also I don’t think it is good for the operating system, if you take off the battery when running.

Actually, practice keeping data off when not in use will preserve a good percentage of battery life.

What’s the Difference to the Mophie Juice Pack Plus Case, then? It has the same 2000mAh as the Chameleon.

    newegg.com has a 3000mAh case for 39 dollers

I think the problem is that the battery case will block the NFC. You cannot use ewallet. I believe that ewallet will become very popular in two ~ three years. If iPhone support NFC in iPhone5s or iPhone 6, it will change the world. The only battery pack for Samsung Galaxy I know is ZiLu Battery Case sold in AT&T stores. It is very interesting design.
