Shadowgun: Deadzone Updated With New Maps, Weapons, Gangs, Hats

Yup, I said “hats.”

Madfinger Games announced on its Facebook page today an update to multiplayer FPS game, Shadowgun: Deadzone on both Google Play and the iTunes App Store. The update includes two new maps, new weapon upgrades, a chat feature in the main menu, a new way to play with groups of friends called Gangs, new hats, Rewards for finishing Zone Control or DeathMatch, and an increase to max player ranks (up to 50).

There are also a couple of gameplay tweaks, including redesigned weapons stats and limiting weapons and gadgets to player rank, ostensibly as a balancing fix. Other bug fixes are included in the update, including improving hit detection, fixing VoiceChat and Network Code, some new optimization to the rendering system, and fixes to Wall exploits in several levels.

The next update is promising more goodies, like a new Capture The Flag mode that will pit iOS and Android owners against each other, new maps for Zone Control and DeathMatch modes, and new weapons and gadgets.

All in all, a pretty good update for an already great game. If you dig fragging your friends in some online multiplayer, you can’t go wrong with Shadowgun: Deadzone, available for free on the Google Play store as well as the iTunes App Store.
