An iPhone 4S And Samsung Galaxy S III Go Bumper Riding, You Can Guess What Happens Next

Are you guys ready to watch two brand new $500+ devices get ruined for no good reason? Sure you are. Someone decided it would be beneficial to humanity to tie an Apple iPhone 4S and a Samsung Galaxy S III to the trunk of a car and drag them a couple hundred feet across the pavement. I bet you guys can guess what happens next.

Looks like the Galaxy S III fared much better than the iPhone 4S, which is good to know should I ever be in a situation where my phone needs to be dragged by a car.

Not much more to say, except maybe that guy should lay off the Red Bulls.

Que bom, agora eu sei que nunca devo amarrar meu Iphone do lado de fora do meu carro e sair com ele.
    Realmente obrigado

Good, now I know I never tie my iPhone outside of my car and go out with him.
    Really thank you

Is this a Samsung ad Campaign? Because it looks like.
“I know that the Samsung Galaxy SIII beats iPhone 4s on scratch and drop tests, but what happens when both phones get dragged by a car?” from “aperfectgalaxy” user with only 1 video.

    Samsung, now trying “viral videos…”

  • Bo Guss

The 4S was bouncing around considerably more than the S3. And the S3 didn’t completely get out of that unscathed. I’ve seen the 4S dropped before from holding height (5 feet) straight on to concrete, and without a scratch. Maybe a little chip on the metal edge, but screen was undamaged. If your going to try and damage the screen, you’ll be able to. I can guarantee I can damage the S3 screen. Dumb test.

    • http://twitter.com/int3nsive Int3nsive

Galaxy is made of cheap plastic. The internal damage is by far worst than the iPhone 4 and 4S, with that stainless steel unibody. So, conclusion. It’s cheaper to change a display than the whole smartphone. I know so many cases of galaxy’s droping on the floor and after that, having problems like randomly shutting down..

Randomly shutting down? That bitch Samsung would just explode in your pocket and you’re done. Cheap plastic you know…

    • http://twitter.com/iArshdeep Arshdeep 

Haha, S3 has traction control and ABS, 4S doesn’t. Thats what this ass who made the video wants to prove.

So it was basically a scratch test. Why weren’t the phones tested to see if they still worked which would be useful for a user. Anyway, what are the odds that any smartphone will be dragged behind a car. That’s not a real-world test.

I’m trying to image a situation in which my iPhone would be subject to being dragged behind a car… Oh, that’s right there is none; Samsung, please fire the creative heads of your advertising department, they are worthless.

    • Joey Cossack

Obviously…it is to show the durability of each device. Are you going to drag it behind your car…no, but to know that the GSIII lasts that is a true testament to the build quality. Its funny….iPhone users rant and rave about how superior the build quality is on the iPhone….yet it fails every drop test it enters. Just because it feels heavy does not mean its superior. don’t be angry because your phone, that you over payed for, lost.

      • http://southshift.com/ Nick Comer

I have dropped my iPhone numerous times without a scratch. And I’m not mad that iPhone loses drop tests to an Android phone (not even angry really). I am disturbed that Samsung’s marketing department would rather tear down it’s competitors rather than showcase the redeeming features about their products (of which there are none). I guess it’s my intolerance to shitty quality that led me to buy an iPhone rather than a Samsung phone.

      • Disappointed Neeson

I know right! That’s why the iPhone beats the S3 in every drop test. The only situation where the s3 wins is in a drag test…a scenario we smartphone owners are all to familiar with…

  • The Common Man

Damn, I wish he would have turned them on to see if both were still working!

  • Kasoki

What the hell is wrong with this guy?

  • http://twitter.com/omgwutsthat Clark Wallace

Maybe get out of a 20mph zone and go on a motorway and see if the S3 survives that.

Is it possible to drag this website down the road until it falls apart. If so, do it!!!

  • Lars Pallesen

What’s great about this video is that it not only shows “the superior screen” of these Android phones. It also shows a lot about their owners.

    • http://twitter.com/int3nsive Int3nsive

True to that. Apple users get their phones to use them, in other hand, Android users get their phones, only to try to beat Apple. Since 2007.

  • http://twitter.com/macstuffdaily Mac Stuff

why not shoot them both with beretta’s and see what is damaged the least. The result is the same, a phone im not going to use or will ever have in my hand… Who is paying for these ridiculous tests! … and i thought the banks were being frivolous

“Not much more to say, except maybe that guy should lay off the Red Bulls.”

    LOOOL +1

I don’t think Apple designed the iPhone for people as stupid as Samsung owners. I think if you were having these…er.. wear and tear issues with your iPhone that Steve Jobs would have said “Your holding it wrong”.

  • http://www.facebook.com/camillo Andrea Camillo Miller Nepori

Why is he even panting? He didn’t run or anything!

  • John Eugene Bassett

Let’s hear it for over engineering… I would prefer that my phone maker spends the money on technology, integration and innovation than on a piece of glass that will never be subjected to that kind of lunacy. I’ve had 3 iPhones and an HTC EVO…none have ever had a scratch…

  • Angelo

You guys are idiots, your comparing technology from a year ago to technology from a few months ago. When the iPhone 4s came out, that’s around the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S II (not the 3). Compare that piece of crap or wait for the iPhone 5. Why don’t you guys look at the same generation models, the iPhone 4 from 2 years ago is still being used today by many and it’s still a fast phone, you can’t say that with any other manufacturer. You get an Apple iPhone, the value is there (price and performance) , with a Samsung or any other Android, you’ll want to upgrade 6 – 8 months after getting the phone because it’ll be so damn slow compared to what came out since that phone.

  • Angelo

After reading the other comments below, I can’t help but laugh. The Samsung is made of cheap crappy plastic, and their OS and Apps are an inferior imitation of what Apple has done/created. All these Samsung fans are going to cry when the iPhone 5 comes out, they’ll wait 6 months and start comparing the Samsung Galaxy S 4 to the iPhone 5. All Samsung does is wait for Apple to create a technology, they steal it and compare it, saying that it’s better. Check out this link of just some of the stuff Samsung has ripped off from Apple: http://nicklazilla.tumblr.com/post/29202801252/samsung-is-apples-biggest-fan

I’m thinking that guy hit an entire 8-ball of coke before shooting

  • Jeffrey Richards

This is just a major waste of time, money (phones as well as the gas for the car) and effort. I agree with one of the comments that this is not a “real-world” test. I won’t tie up my phone (whether it be Samsung or iPhone) at the back of my car just to watch it be scratched. Too much of a waste really. Unless, you people are using free stuff like free phones or free iPhone cases or something. Get a Nokia 3310 and let’s see which phone prevails!

  • http://twitter.com/iArshdeep Arshdeep 

Yeah, I’m told to drag my phone everyday like crazies on the road and check if the glass breaks or not. Thank you so much, it just helped. But you know what, on a serious note, You’re in love with the wrong company and you’re as ass. All said, bitch.

    • http://twitter.com/iArshdeep Arshdeep 

And you’re so getting fucked by every comment on the video. I would like to thank the one who posted it… You just made me realize that the world I live in is a CRAZY CRAZY world.
