I’ve held out on this one for a bit now but I’m going to show you guys how to enable the hotspot feature on your Samsung Galaxy Nexus without any funky tweaks or root. I felt it was necessary to share this considering it’s the number one feature I use on my phone and I’d be lost without it. Unfortunately this is something your carrier certainly does not condone and you will be doing this at your own risk (sounds scary but it isn’t).

Owners of ASUS’ Transformer Prime have most likely noticed the tablet’s poor GPS performance. ASUS has tried to remedy the situation by releasing a myriad of software updates, but the issue seems to really be around bad hardware design. According to an ASUS support employee, ASUS will soon be sending out a free GPS dongle to Transformer Prime owners. The dongle will connect via the proprietary charger port, to offer better GPS performance.


Last week Motorola was prepping a mysterious “soak test” for Motorola XOOM WiFi users. It now appears Motorola was getting ready to release Android 4.0.4 as they are sending emails out to let owners know. There’s no mention of when the update will begin rolling out but given the email, it should be soon. The update includes quicker screen rotation, camera improvements, improved stability and more. Owners of the US WiFi version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 should start seeing an OTA update hit their device. Unfortunately the update is not Ice Cream Sandwich, but it appears to be a maintenance update that takes care of quite a few issues. The update is build number HTJ85B.UEKMP P7510UEKMP and fixes:

ASUS continues to address concerns over the Transformer Prime’s lackluster WiFi connectivity, and has released yet another update to help fix the problem. Build 9.4.2.13-20120203 should bring improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance, along with a new kernel. While no official changelog has hit yet, we think this update also addresses the random reboot issue some have been experiencing since upgrading to Ice Cream Sandwich.
