Android fans in the U.S. and other markets have been eagerly awaiting some of Xiaomi’s better devices, which have made the Chinese startup the number one smartphone vendor on its home turf.

Sadly, the company is in no rush to bring any of them to U.S. customers.

After announcing the new One M9 at Mobile World Congress earlier this month, it looks like HTC is set to finally give U.S. customers a release date. The company today began teasing a “BIG” announcement for Wednesday, March 18.

Xiaomi has confirmed that it will hold a U.S. press event in San Francisco on February 12, hosted by global vice president and former Google VP Hugo Barra. But before you get too excited, the news you’re probably hoping for isn’t coming… at least not yet.
