Pocket-Casts-Android

Its the beginning of July, which means its time for our monthly round-up of apps and games released last month. Even though we had possibly the biggest Android related event in June, quite a few major apps and games were released on the Play Store. Henceforth, we would also be including apps that receive major UI and usability updates in our roundups.

So, without further ado and wasting much words, scroll below to read about the best apps released on the Play Store in June.

SwiftKey-5

SwiftKey, one of the biggest and best third-party keyboards for Android, today received a major update that adds a plethora of awesome new features. In addition to support for premium themes and a theme store, SwiftKey version 5 brings emojis, a dedicated number row, and an improved prediction engine.

And best of all, it’s now completely free.

iOS-8

With iOS 8, Apple is bringing a multitude of exciting new features to iPhone and iPad. In some cases, Cupertino is playing catch-up as it tries to match what’s currently available in KitKat; in others, Apple’s next-generation mobile operating system is about to blast past the latest version of Android.

Android and iOS will secure a staggering 95 percent of smartphone market share between them in 2014, according to the latest research from IDC. While it’s strictly a two-horse race, Google’s platform is currently far out in front when it comes to number of users, with Android’s market share expected to reach 80.2 percent by the end of the year.

Google has a new Android update up its sleeve that will be announced this summer, but while Apple posts impressive upgrade percentages, Android fragmentation typically slows deployment of Google’s latest, greatest mobile OS.

SwiftKey-update

SwiftKey, one of Android’s most popular third-party keyboards, got a welcome update today that’s filled with bug fixes and performance improvements.

The version 4.4.2 release prevents the SwiftKey keyboard from crashing when loading languages and from jumping when unlocking a password-protected device, and irons out issues with SwiftKey Cloud syncing.
