Google has been working on a voice assistant service similar to Apple’s Siri and last we heard it was going to be called Majel (named after the woman who provided the voice of the Federation Computer on Star Trek). According to the latest rumors, that name seems to have been dropped in favor of the simpler “Assistant.” This information comes via an unnamed source who spoke with TechCrunch about the project. The project, which is being led by the Android team along with the help of search engineer Amit Singhal, is expected to launch Q4 and includes three core layers to achieve its goals:

ZDNet Korea is reporting that Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S III will be announced sometime this month with an April launch to follow. These claims appear to come from Cheil Worldwide, Samsung’s marketing and advertising agency, which is planning a huge advertising campaign for the summer Olympics in London. While the Olympics campaign makes sense to us, we’re highly doubtful of a March announcement or April launch.

Well what do we have here? Could this be the next Motorola Atrix? This photo along with some rumored specs popped up on a few sites today and adds another quad-core smartphone into the pool of “we want now” devices. The photo shows a buttonless Motorola device that looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The lack of buttons would mean we are looking at an Android 4.0 device and if rumored specs are to believed, an incredibly powerful one.

Could there be a 10″ Samsung Galaxy Note tablet in the works for Mobile World Congress? According to Samsung’s Developer Day guide for MWC, there will be a few exhibitions where developers will get to play with Samsung’s latest tech. Among the devices listed is an unannounced Galaxy Note 10.1. We could simply chalk this up to a typo, but it seems the guys over at The Verge did a little digging and came across a casting call for a Samsung commercial, inviting a “teen student” to audition for the role of a Galaxy Note 10.1 user.

The guys over at pocketnow.com got a hold of some renders showing what could possibly be Motorola’s first Intel powered smartphone and it’s running Android 4.0. Although there’s no way of telling whether or not the Medfield chip will actually be powering this device, or if the device will even look like this, we’re supposed to get a look at it this month at Mobile World Congress.
