Vodafone U.K. has today announced that its new 4G LTE network will be available in Liverpool, Glasgow, and Manchester by the end of this month. It’s been just seven weeks since the service took off, and Vodafone says that more than 100,000 people have already signed up to a new 4G plan.

Galaxy-Note-3-Galaxy-Gear

Samsung has now priced its new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear for the United Kingdom, and you might be surprised to see how much they’ll sell for without a contract. The Galaxy Note 3 will cost you £649 ($1,018), which isn’t exactly overly excessive for a high-end smartphone these days — but the Galaxy Gear will cost a whopping £299 ($469).

O2, one of the U.K.’s largest cellular operators, has announced the launch of its free London Underground Wi-Fi connectivity for its mobile subscribers. Like both EE and Vodafone, O2 has entered into a partnership with Virgin Media – which has Wi-Fi hotspots at more than 120 tube stations across central London – to provide the new service to its customers.

Samsung is holding a press event in London later on today, and it has a number of new devices up its sleeve for both Android and Windows Phone fans. While the Korean company has already announced a slew of devices this year, it is by no means finished just yet.

You don’t have to be at the event to watch it all unfold, however, because Samsung is live-streaming the whole thing on the Internet.

The Galaxy S 4 Mini will be unveiled at Samsung’s June 20 event in London, according to “a person with knowledge of the matter” who’s been speaking to The Wall Street Journal. It will appear alongside “several” new devices running Android and Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system.
