Android-4-2-2

As expected, Google has begun rolling out its Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update to a number of Nexus devices, including the GSM Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 7, and the Nexus 10. The software comes with the “JDQ39” build number, and it delivers fixes for a number of key issues — most notably a Bluetooth streaming bug.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus LTE, the first Nexus device to offer 4G LTE connectivity, has been discontinued by Verizon Wireless just over a year after it was released. The carrier is no longer offering the device online or in-store, and so the only way to bag one now would be to look for a secondhand model.

Phil over at Android Central has been spending some quality time with the HTC DROID DNA and just so happened to uncover a few surprises. On the back side of the device, to the left of the camera lens, there happens to be a mysterious circle of pinholes. Intriguing to say the least, but when looking for answers, not even HTC’s team members were sure what it was.

If you happen to be the owner of a GSM/HSPA Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S, you might want to keep your eye out for an update. According to reports, Android 4.1.2 has begun rolling out to the “yakju” Galaxy Nexus and the “soju” Nexus S. This isn’t surprising since Google posted the factory images just a few days ago and it’s only been about a week since Nexus 7 owners received the update. .

You knew this was coming. As soon as Jelly Bean was announced, hackers got started. It took less than 24 hours for developers B16, jdkoreclipse and Team Liquid to have a working build for all models of the Galaxy Nexus. This is the preview build from I/O so it may have some kinks but so far feedback has been positive. If you’ve got the beans and can’t wait until mid-July for the official build and rollout, continue past the break.
