Qualcomm is celebrating this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by knocking $50 off its Android-comptible Toq smartwatch. For this week only, the device will sell for $299.99 as opposed to $349.99, and you can buy it directly from Qualcomm or through Amazon.

Google released the original model of its flagship 7-inch tablet, the Nexus 7, back in June, 2012, and a month later the device was available to purchase from the U.S. Play Store with a $199 price tag. However, if you didn’t have the opportunity to pick one up at the time, Walmart is currently offering the 7-inch slate for $159, which is $40 off the retailer’s usual price.

The Android 4.4.2 Google Play Edition ROM powering the Sony Xperia Z Ultra — which was released just a couple weeks ago — has been ported to the Xperia Z1. The ROM provides users with a stock Android experience, free from Sony’s own user interface tweaks — but it’s not completely stable just yet.

Oppo’s flagship N1 smartphone went on sale globally for the first time on December 10, but the version everybody wants — that’s the one that comes with CyanogenMod 10.2 pre-installed — wasn’t available from day one. Oppo has today announced, however, that it will be available on December 24 — just in time for Christmas.

While Google’s “open” approach to Play Store applications comes with its downsides, there are plenty of advantages, too. One of them is the plethora of wonderful titles that wouldn’t make it past stage one of Apple’s review process for iOS — such as the long list of emulators that allow you to play classic console games.

One of the latest is called Reicast, and it brings your favorite Dreamcast titles to your smartphone and tablet.
