Green-Throttle-controller

Google is expected to make gaming a major focus for its upcoming “Nexus TV” following its acquisition of Green Throttle Games, the company behind the Atlas game controller for Android.

The search giant’s upcoming set-top box will reportedly compete with Android-powered consoles like the OUYA, allowing users to play smartphone and tablet games on their TVs.

Samsung-NotePRO-12.2-pre-order

Samsung’s new NotePRO 12.2 tablet is now available to pre-order in the United Kingdom, priced at an eye-watering £649 ($788). That’s for the Wi-Fi only model, which will be leaving Samsung’s warehouse and making its way to your door on Tuesday, February 4 — and it comes with a free Gamepad worth £59.

Archos Gamepad 2

Archos launched its first Android-powered gaming tablet, the GamePad, back in 2012, and to be completely honest it wasn’t too impressive, particularly when compared to the beastly NVIDIA Shield.

Now, the French consumer electronics company is taking another shot at conquering the mobile gaming industry, with the announcement of its new, revamped successor to the original 7-inch gaming slate.

Modern-Combat

Gameloft has announced that it has been forced to postpone the launch of Modern Combat 5 for Android and iOS until 2014 to “fully achieve [its] vision” for the game. The first-person shooter was first confirmed in an impressive teaser trailer back in June, and we initially expected it to be available before the end of the year.

Now we’ll have to wait a little longer.

Wikipad 7 Header

We first caught a glimpse of the Wikipad back at CES in 2012, when it was formally known as the 10-inch WikiPad:3D, but a lot has changed in the past year. Today, the Tegra-powered slate hit the shelves as a 7-inch Android gaming tablet with some pretty impressive specifications.

The Wikipad was essentially designed to compete with the likes of the NVIDIA Shield and the Archos GamePad. The team behind this new gaming tablet are hoping that it has got what it takes to battle against its competitors and be the king of the mobile-gaming market.

But does this 7-inch tablet have what it takes to make its way to the top? I’ve been testing it for the past three weeks to find out.
