Time Warner recently added the ability to live stream national and regional sports networks from the TWC TV app for the iPad, iPhone, Android 4.0 smartphones and tablets, and TWCTV.com. Any Time Warner Cable video subscriber living in New York, Dallas, or Charlotte will now have the ability to live stream their favorite sports channels at no extra cost by using the TWC TV app.


Users of the Netflix app for Android will now have better control over the volume of the crappy movie they’re watching on Netflix. Okay, maybe I’m being too harsh, but as well all know, Netflix doesn’t exactly have the best selection of movies. However, it has been great for my kids, so I’m thankful for that. Today’s update brings an improved UI for volume control functions, stability fixes, and a few bug fixes as well.


Apparently no one told IMDb about the whole Google Play switcheroo because they’re still pointing users to the Android Market. I don’t blame ’em, it’s hard to let go. Anywhoo, they have an update ready for all you movie fanatics who latch onto your IMDb app like it’s the Bible. The update, which brings the app to Version 2.6, adds the ability to watch movie trailers in HD as well as:


XFINITY TV for Android received a minor update today. By minor, I mean no new features have been added. However, those rocking Android 4.0 will see it as a major update considering it adds support for their precious Ice Cream Sandwich devices. Updating apps to support Android 4.0 hasn’t been that big of a priority for some developers and with such a low percentage of Android devices actually running it, I can see why. To be honest, no matter how slow developers are at updating their apps, it’s nothing compared to how slow OEM and carriers are at updating their devices!

Netflix for Android received an update today, and while it didn’t bring HD video to everyone, it did bring a slew of other improvements for tablets and smartphones. Improvements made in version 1.7 include:
