Google’s stock Android Email application, which comes pre-installed on Nexus devices and allows users to access third-party email services like Outlook and iCloud, is now available to download from Google Play. The release will enable users to get their hands on updates and new features faster than before, but it’s available only to Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.

Google has made it super simple to share the photos you’ve backed up to Google+ directly from Gmail on the web. When composing a new email message, users can click the insert photos button to directly insert “Auto Backup” images with just a few clicks.

According to a new leak, the Gmail app for Android could soon get a UI refresh. The report is accompanied by a leaked screenshot which shows the revamped UI along with some new colors. The screenshot also reveals the addition of several additional tabs within the app to categorize mails accordingly.

Google controversially brought Gmail and Google+ closer together this week by introducing a new feature called Email via Google+, which allows anyone with a Google+ account to send messages to your Gmail inbox — even if they don’t have your email address. Unsurprisingly, most Gmail users aren’t so keen on it.
