Sony-Xperia-M

Sony has today announced a new addition to its Xperia smartphone family, this time targeting the entry-level end of the market. It’s called the Xperia M and it offers a 4-inch FWVGA display with a 854×480 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, and a 5-megapixel Exmor RS rear-facing camera.

Samsung announced the new 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 tablet this morning, but unsurprisingly it won’t be the last slate the Korean company launches during 2013. In fact, according to a leaked tablet roadmap, we can expect at least another three Galaxy Tab devices — all in different sizes — plus a new, eight-core Nexus 11.

On Thursday, March 14, Samsung will unveil the much-anticipated Galaxy S IV at an event in New York City’s Times Square. The Korean company has been very secretive about its next-generation Android flagship — as it was with the Galaxy S III last year — but pictures of the new device may have been leaked ahead of its official debut.

The image you see above was posted to Chinese forum 52 Samsung, and it’s just one of many of that purportedly show the Galaxy S IV. The handset looks a lot like a Galaxy Note II — albeit a slightly smaller version — but according to a benchmark test, its internals are very different.

Xperia-E-dual

Sony has confirmed that its entry-level Xperia E Dual is making its way to the United States. The $199 device, which offers a 3.5-inch scratch-resistant display and dual-SIM functionality, will be shipping from March 3. Sony has begun accepting orders for the device via its online store.

Mobile World Congress is right around the corner, but it appears some manufacturers simply cannot wait to show you their latest offerings. LG has this morning announced its new Optimus L Series II family, which includes three devices called the L3II, the L5II, and the L7II. They range in size from 3.2 inches to 4.3 inches, and it’ll be the the largest model, the L7II, that is available first.
