It look like those Feb. 10th DROID 4 launch rumors were true. Verizon has finally announced the DROID 4 and it will be hitting shelves this Friday for the reasonable price of $199 with a two-year agreement. The DROID 4 caters to those who still prefer a physical keyboard and features a a five-row QWERTY keyboard with edge-lit keys. It’s by far the most powerful QWERTY keyboard and runs on Verizon’s fast 4G network.

The Motorola DROID 4 is rumored to be launching in the next week and this 4th generation QWERTY received a lengthy hands-on with the guys over at Wirefly. For those who prefer a phone with a physical keyboard, the DROID 4 takes the cake. It features a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 4″ qHD display, edge-lit 5-row keyboard and Verizon’s 4G LTE. It already has a landing page over at DROID DOES where you can check out all the specs, and now thanks to Wirefly, a nice first look. If you were considering picking up the DROID 4, give the video a view after the break and keep your fingers crossed for a February 9th or 10th launch.

The DROID 4 still hasn’t seen a release date, but it was originally set to hit the market with a price tag of $249.99. If this latest MAP is to be trusted, those looking to get their hands on one of the slimmest and fastest sliding QWERTY smartphones to hit the market, will also be treated to a lower price. Now that’s something to look forward to.

Up until now, no LTE device on Verizon has been able to support global roaming (no, not global warming, global roaming), in part because of a network issues that prevents LTE phones from roaming in non-CDMA markets. But now, thanks to some network enhancements and unannounced global GSM/WCDMA roaming capability in the DROID 4 and LG Spectrum, both devices will have global roaming support enabled by the first half of the year. Here’s what Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney had to say:

We’ve seen plenty regarding the DROID 4, but one thing that has eluded us, an official release by Verizon. Today Verizon and Motorola changed all that by officially announcing the DROID 4 in all of its RAZR looking glory. The 4G LTE QWERTY slider is set to hit Verizon in the next couple of weeks and will be packing the following:
