Samsung Finally Tells Us When The Galaxy Camera 2 Will Be Here & How Much It’ll Cost

Galaxy-Camera-2

Samsung first announced its second-generation Galaxy Camera almost two months ago, and although it told us everything there is to know about its specifications, it left out a price tag and a release date. But just as we were beginning to think the South Korean company may have quietly given up on the device, it has issued a press release to confirm the missing details.

The Galaxy Camera 2 will go on sale in mid-March, priced at $449.99. The specifications remain the same as those announced last month:

  • 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor
  • 21x optical zoom
  • Optical image stabilization
  • 1.6GHz quad-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 4.8-inch HD Super Clear Touch LCD display
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • microSD card slot
  • 2,000mAh battery
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • NFC
  • GPS/GLONASS
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n

Samsung hasn’t confirmed the availability of a cellular model yet, so as things stand, the Galaxy Camera 2 will rely on Wi-Fi only. The device will be powered by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Samsung’s trademark TouchWiz user interface, which offers 28 “SMART” shooting modes.
