The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected boast a new “floating touch” technology that will allow users to interact with the display without actually touching it. Samsung already offers a similar feature with its Galaxy Note devices and their accompanying S Pens. But the Galaxy S IV will use your finger, rather than a stylus.

Sony has today announced its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade plans for Xperia smartphones released during 2012. The Japanese company is hoping to deliver its latest software to at least six handsets by the end of March 2013, then another four handset in the “subsequent weeks.” There are four Xperia handsets that won’t be upgraded beyond Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however.


Sony has unveiled their latest Xperia smartphone the Xperia Sola, a 3.7-inch dual-core device touting Sony’s latest “floating touch” navigation. This latest “innovation” allows users to navigate around a page (similar to a cursor) without actually touching the display. We’re not sure how this would come in handy unless your a clean freak or a ghost, but we assume it’s to avoid accidentally clicking on items while navigating.
