Yesterday, at an official Gamescom press conference in Cologne, Germany, Microsoft announced and detailed the contents of both its upcoming updates for the Xbox One and SmartGlass companion application.

The Xbox One SmartGlass beta for Android is getting a new update today that allows gamers to buy new titles remotely when they’re on the go. The update also makes finding new and popular games easier, and allows you to view items that have been shared with you via a message.

When not even your own employees want to use your smartphone operating system, how are you supposed to win over consumers? That’s the question Microsoft is facing after one of its Xbox employees was caught tweeting from an Android as opposed to one of the company’s own Windows Phone devices.

Nintendo is finally ready to swallow its pride and begin developing games and other content for mobile devices, according to a new report from Japan. Gamers can use it to navigate their Xbox One’s user interface, browse the web on their TV, and to turn their smartphone or tablet into a second screen.
