LG has officially applied for a trademark on the name “G Health” for its rumored upcoming smartwatch. The name suggests that the device is expected to be focused on health, with its main objective being to monitor a user’s workouts and track their physical activity.

Samsung looks to be preparing its own extended warranty plans that will provide additional coverage for its smartphones, tablets, and other consumer electronics, according to a new trademark registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Called “Protection Plus,” the service is expected to offer the same kind of protection that is available to iPhone, iPad, and iPod users with AppleCare+.

Samsung has applied for a trademark on the name “Galaxy GEAR” for its much-anticipated smartwatch. This is the eighth trademark that the electronics giant has filed in the last 7 days at the United States Patents and Trademarks Office, so it’s pretty clear that the South Korean company is planning something big.

Samsung is the latest company to bombard the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) with some new trademarks, but we have little information indicating what they actually mean. These character marks include; Mobile Samsung 5G, Samsung Fit, Samsung Micro, Samsung Expo, Samsung Go, Samsung Pro and S MUSICIAN.

Apple’s “pinch to zoom” patent, which features prominently in a patent dispute against Samsung, has been dismissed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. According to documents filed by Samsung in a U.S. federal court, all 21 claims of the patent have been rejected in a “final office action.”
