Rumors surrounding a newer, faster Galaxy Note 4 were true, it seems, after Samsung today announced an even better version of its flagship phablet less than four months after the original made its debut. The newer model has a faster 64-bit processor and snappier data speeds thanks to LTE-Advanced connectivity, but you shouldn’t feel too disappointed if you’ve already adopted its predecessor.

Samsung is already giving up on the Galaxy Alpha, its first Android-powered smartphone made of metal, according to reports from South Korea. Sources say production will cease as soon as the existing inventory of materials runs out, and Samsung is expected to put more focus into the Galaxy A5 instead.

Samsung upset a lot of early Galaxy S5 adopters back in June when it announced the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, an improved version of the Galaxy S5 with a better display and a faster processor, just two months after the original first went on sale. However, it was only made available in South Korea.

Now a similar handset has popped up on international Samsung product pages with a new moniker — Galaxy S5 Plus — indicating a worldwide launch could be right around the corner.

LG is expected to finally launch its second Android Wear watch next week. Two separate sources in South Korean claim the G Watch R will make its debut there on Monday, October 13 — almost two months after it was announced at IFA 2014 in Berlin — but just one retailer will be selling the device for the first week.
